This virtual field trip leads participants to investigate monuments from Sumeria, Babylonia and Assyria on display in the Harvard Semitic Museum galleries. Guided by a museum educator, your group observes sculptures to understand characteristics of these three ancient river civilizations. The lively program highlights the Sumerian ruler Gudea, Hammurabi of Babylon and three Assyrian kings. Includes a demonstration of writing cuneiform on clay.
